Journey

Sunday, 22 April 2007

It has been quite some time since I last blogged. The days have passed by in such a quick blur, a week has already gone by in the blink of an eye. Tomorrow will be the start of the second week of me being a poly student. But one thing for sure though, I don't regret going to NP, I don't regret going into MCM. (I'll prove you wrong, XT!!) Despite some of the lectures and tutorials being total bores or totally incomprehensible at all (sorry la, but I'm a girl and I just don't get certain modules ><)

Anyway, I went to church today. Saw some things I really didn't like. My sis and I went to Hall 9 for lunch today. We couldn't get any seating tables so we stood and ate. Rather close to us, we saw a trio of mean seated around an empty table talking. The place was rather crowded with more than two groups of people looking for seats, and yet they just sat there talking, oblivious to everything outside of their conversation.

Next, there were two kids who were seated at another table, apparently waiting for their parents to come out from Chinese service. Then a group of about 3 people came, and one of them went up to the little girl and the conversation went a little something like this -

Woman: Eh, are these seats taken?
Girl 1: Yes! My parents are going to come out soon -points at the door-
Woman: But if your parents are not out yet, we can sit here right?
Girl 1: -looks at Girl 2-
Girl 2: -looks back at Girl 1-
Girl 2: But.. they're going to come out soon...
Woman: Yes, I know. But they're not here yet. So we can sit here. When they come, we will leave.
Girl 2: Erhm.. Okay.....

-Woman and her friend sits down at the table, the two girls leave to find more chairs, only to have the chairs filled with bags of the woman and her friends-

A little while later...

Woman: Eh, when your parents come, can we still sit here?

And I was too disgusted to even hear the rest. For one thing, since the woman was asking favour of the little girls, couldn't she have been more polite and asked them whether they could have the seats in a nicer way, instead of calling them 'Eh' all the time as if they were her maids or something. BULLY!

Also, they weren't even eating, and they weren't carrying anything heavy, so they could have just stood somewhere to talk before Youth service started. It makes me a little sick to know that there're these kinda people admist the church community. But I am no one to judge, thus I'll just keep quiet on this matter. (Urgh! She was even wearing an FC t-shirt!)

Early start tomorrow, even though my lecture only begins at 10. I'll be meeting Rach at Hougang Int. at 7:30, then we'll be taking the shuttle to school! So I guess I'll be sitting there looking through my lecture notes and revising my Jap before class is in session (:

Dear Lord, help me not to be so prejudiced, help me to stop seeing just the negative side of things. I pray that You'll give me strength to pull through tomorrow with my marathon classes of 6 hours in a row. I also pray that You'll give me a good sleep, quell my hungry tummy, and let me have a fruitful fellowship with my classmates daily. In Your mighty and precious name, amen.
