Time

Time flies past quickly indeed.

A year ago, I was mugging for my Os.

A year ago, I was having relationship problems.

A year ago, I was worrying about academic results.

A year ago, my beloved Ah Gong passed away.

One year has sped away in a flash, a blink of an eye (ya, I know, very cliche phrases)

We went to visit Ah Gong today. Marcus, my godbrother came along. He cooked us a very nice lunch too (:

Have you ever felt such hatred, such loathing for a person that you wished him or her dead, even if for a moment? Have you ever wanted to say "I love you" to someone but never had the balls or the guts to do so, until one fine day, that someone moves away, goes off to another school and doesn't keep in contact anymore etc? Have you ever kept procrastinating something till tomorrow and tomorrow never arrives because something else you think is of higher priority pops up etc?

Don't.

Because time waits for no man, and once the opportunity is lost, it might never come knocking on your door again, and a "when one door closes, another door slams in your face" scenario might happen.

I never got to tell my Ah Gong I loved him. I didn't even get to see him the day he passed away. All I could do was be shell-shocked and stunned when my dad called home and said that Ah Gong had been called back to be with the Lord.

So love your enemies, love your friends, love the ones around you. Show them you love them everyday, because one day, they, or even YOU might not even be here anymore. And don't waste time holding grudges, hating people, because the space they hold in your heart when you're hating, could be devoted to loving other people.

And of course, love yourself.

Here's a video on how precious life can be. Its in Thai, so read the subtitles.

A real tear-jerker.

And to lighten up the mood, here's a joke the pastor told in church yesterday:

One day, a man and his wife who were having problems with their marriage were taking a trip to Jerusalem. When they reached there, they had such a heated argument that the wife had a heart attack and died.

An undertaker came up to the man and said, “For fifty thousand dollars, I can ship your wife back home. But, for a hundred and fifty dollars, I can bury your wife here in the promised land.”

The man thought and thought for a very long time until he finally said, “This is going to take up my entire life’s savings, but I want you to ship my wife back home.”

The undertaker was surprised. “Why? Why would you want to spend your entire life’s savings to ship your wife back home when I can bury her here for a hundred and fifty dollars in the promised land?”

The man replied, “Well, a long time ago, a man that died and was buried here rose up again three days later!”

Life's short. Live it.
