Manhattan Fish Market

Whilst the original plan was Fish & Co., we ended up at Manhattan Fish Market because the smelly bf didn't feel like walking all the way to Park Mall after withdrawing cash at PS.

The verdict?

No regrets AT ALL.

Well, we may have blown the budget a teensy weeeeensy bit, but I think the money was well spent.

No pictures, sorry. My phone's camera is stupid.

Customer service was good. They let us have the menu while standing in the loooong queue so that we can decide what to eat while waiting then order when we're seated/at the front of the queue. Really speeds up the whole process.

But since it was just the two of us, we got seated pretty quickly, about less than five minutes after we chugged down our water chestnut and iced milo from Kopitiam (we were near the end of the queue in fact).

Actually, we got seated the moment we got the menu while standing in line.

Took about five minutes deliberating over what we wanted. Was debating between the platter for two or individual mains.

First, was our soup of the day and drinks.

Cream of Sotong and two fuckingly huge glasses of Iced Lemon Tea (too sweet for my liking).

The soup was okay, but wish I wish it was chowder.

We then had Garlic Butter Mussels drowning in the sauce for starters.

The sauce was just delicious. But a bit jelat, of course. Was seriously heaven. Thank goodness for the slices of baguettes that they served together with that dish. Don't regret spending the 10 bucks plus for that.

In fact, I would've regretted it if I didn't have it.

(I know the lack of pictures isn't doing this post any justice.)

Then came our mains.

I had a Grilled Norweigian King Salmon thing, and a Whole Fried Something or Other for the boyfriend.

And when I say whole, I mean whole.

Fucking head and all.

So while I was happily munching on my delicious salmon with awesome crispy skin, boyfriend was busy WTFing over his fish and trying to separate the meat from the bones using a fork and a fish knife.

He ended up eating most of the fish with his hands.

The fries served together with the fish weren't half bad either.

I still prefer LJS's fries!

BUT DON'T GO TO LJS @ HOUGANG MALL.

By the time we finished our food, we were so damned full and very, very satisfied.

Will definitely go there again, and I'll remember not to let the waitress clear away the rest of the garlic butter sauce!
